The first Mass was held January 18, 1981, at the Coweta Elementary School Gym. Wrestling mats covered with an altar cloth served as the first altar for the small community of sixteen families.
By October 1981, the parishioners relocated to the second story of Sunshine Cleaners in downtown Coweta. In 1982, ten acres of land was purchased on South G Street (now 297th E Ave.). Many parishioners helped daily in the construction of the present parish, which is a multi-purpose building.
The first Mass was held in the new building, by Most Rev. Eusebius Beltran, then Bishop of the Diocese of Tulsa, on August 21, 1983. Bishop Beltran blessed the parish, with a membership of 50 plus families in attendance.
Rev. Leo Ahanotu is currently Pastor to the 50 families in the Parish as of June 2016.
